Nestled in woods directly on the Big Bushkill Creek, this Waterfront Log Cabin getaway has its own private beach and three spectacular and secluded decks overlooking the water. Secluded and serene, this cozy Log Cabin is a one-of-a-kind waterfront vacation home in the Bushkill area, tucked away in a canyon that the native Indians called The Kahkout (pronounced Cake-Out). Directly opposite the peak of Kahkout Mountain, between the Marshalls Creek area and Bushkill Falls in Northeast Pennsylvania`s Pocono Mountains, this retreat offers all the modern conveniences and amenities and still retains its original log cabin charm.
Escape the hustle & bustle of everyday life and embark on a peaceful vacation getaway. Listen to the serene sounds of the water cascading over the waterfall directly in front of the property and watch the deer, bear, blue heron, ducks geese, hummingbirds, and other majestic wildlife that inhabit this wild and pristine canyon. Enjoy the views of Kahkout Mountain, the highest rising peak in the Poconos, directly across from this cabin, on the opposite side of the Bushkill Creek, and you may spot some of the bald eagles that nest there. You might also catch sight of one of them diving for fish in the creek right from the deck or the beach. Because we are literally surrounded by the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area only 1 mile down creek, the canyon is full of wildlife of the most extraordinary nature.
This spacious cabin SLEEPS 7 ADULTS MAXIMUM and can accommodate 2 additional children, up to a TOTAL OF 9 PERSONS MAXIMUM. The cabin has been newly renovated and is beautifully furnished and fully-equipped for comfortable vacation living. Enjoy WATERFRONT views from the living room, master bedroom, loft bedroom, office/bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, screened porch and side patio and from all three decks. This cabin has the distinction of having water on all four sides, with the Bushkill Creek passing along both sides and the rear of the residence, and with a seasonal pond on the opposite side of the country road that fronts this enchanting property.
The Master Bedroom has a queen-size bed, spacious built-in closets, end tables, dresser and a built-in window seat overlooking the creek, and two windows both overlook the water.
A second bedroom currently acts as an office; this BR has views of the creek and the pond; pocket doors close for privacy and there is an automatic blowup queen size mattress OR a cot available, to comfortably sleep ONE or TWO ADULTS.
The third bedroom is a loft bedroom with a double bed, dressers, vanity and comfortable seating, and this room contains a window seat bed which is suitable for sleeping children. The window from the loft BR overlooks the creek and the patios.
Additionally, the Living Room sofa is very wide and comfortable and can SLEEP ONE ADULT OR ONE CHILD. There is also a window seat bed upstairs in the loft bedroom that can sleep one child and a love seat in the living room that can sleep a child as well.
Secluded among the mature pines and hemlock trees, this cabin has one full bath, a fully equipped kitchen with built-in dining table, microwave, DISHWASHER, food processor, toaster over, charming under and over cabinet lighting and much more. A large living room has comfortable seating, a wood stove, a widesreen 58" HDTV, Cable HD service with over 200 channels and 60 HD channels, DVD, VHS, and a huge library of DVDs and Videos. There is also a large screened in porch with a comfy porch swing, two padded rocking chairs plus a small coffee table for dining; a perfect spot for your morning coffee. There is also a foyer area complete with a WASHER and DRYER, and the cabin has a front porch as well, where you can sit in the rocker and watch the pond and listen to the frogs at night.
In addition to the front porch, where there is a rocker and bench seating, there are three private decks in back. The largest deck wraps around the back of the cabin, and looks directly over the creek from a high perspective. This deck has its own outdoor dining area with pine table, which can seat 6 adults easily. This deck also contains adirondack chairs for relaxing and a two-seat bar for taking in drinks and the view at the same time. Down below, there is a private beach with 160 feet of waterfront on the creek, and the area directly opposite the log cabin has the best swimming hole and fishing hole in the entire area. The second deck, more intimate sits directly on the edge of the creek, shaded by a huge oak tree, and features seating as well as an outdoor padded rocker. The third deck/patio provides a shaded area with a full queen-sized lounge bed, where a couple can find some seclusion to be romantic by the creek, or just enjoy the views and the blissful quiet.
Our retreat offers serenity, privacy and countless activities and amenities. Enjoy the cascading water as it rushes over the rocks directly in front of the cabin, and lulls you to sleep; enjoy a good book and a warm fire, either in the cabin`s wood-burning stove (with glass door so you can enjoy the heat and the fire) or outdoors in the property`s fire pit, surrounded by tiki torches, where you can roast marshmallows over a campfire, in a waterfront setting.
The LR of this getaway features a wood burning stove, perfect to gather the family around after a full day of enjoying the Poconos or to snuggle up next to a crackling fire as a romantic couples� retreat. Relax and enjoy that fresh country air, the beautiful Pocono�s scenery year-round, stargazing without the glare of streetlights, and the deer grazing all around you, or our resident blue heron gliding in for a visit, all from the privacy of your own screened porch, your private beach area or the outside campfire setting.
This cabin`s waterfront beach area provides swimming, tubing (tubes are provided), fishing, while the road within the canyon is ideal for hiking and biking. The fishing in the Kahkout along the Bushkill Creek is rated by Field and Stream Magazine as one of the best trout fishing streams in the Northeast, given that it is fully stocked every spring. One of the very best fishing spots in the canyon is from the beach of this property--a spot celebrated by local fishermen on opening day of fishing season. And one of the very best swimming holes is directly in front of this property`s beach.
If you�re up to more activity, then try rafting or canoeing on the Delaware River, go on a nature walk/hike, take a trip to nearby Bushkill Falls, shop at the Tannersville Premium Outlets or local antique shops, or simply relax and read a book on the beach area or in front of a warm fire.

WASHER/DRYER on premises.
Bring your food or shop nearby at the area markets. Even towels and fresh linens and blankets, etc. are all provided. So just bring your own food, clothing and your toothbrush!! Cabin also has Propane and Electric Heating; Large enclosed screened in porch to relax or dine al fresco; Cozy outside seating area around fire pit; Three Decks, one with Waterfront Dining; an additional Outdoor Table and chairs, for additional dining by the Creek. Cabin comes equipped with stereo/CD music, a turntable with a huge collection of LPs; Air Conditioning (2 A/C units), one in the LR and one in the Master BR; Additional Electric Fans (3), a huge library of DVD and VHS movies (over 500 titles), board games, water tubes. Fully Equipped Kitchen, as well as an outside Gas Grill. Outside patio with wood burning campfire pit, surrounded by tiki torches. DSL INTERNET connection is available as well.

RENTAL POLICIES: This is a NON-SMOKING house � you may smoke on the enclosed screened in porch, and on the decks. PETS are okay with owner�s permission with additional fee ($25 fee nightly per pet). Sometimes depending upon the situation and the pet, a portion or all of this fee may be waived.
Check In: 3:00 pm; Check Out: 11:00 am. Required Stay: 2 night minimum; Holiday Weekends: 3 night minimum. Renters must be at least 21 years old.
DEPOSITS: A damage/reservation deposit of $250.00 is required to confirm a reservation. This deposit must be received within seven (7) days of booking the reservation. The deposit automatically converts to a security/damage deposit upon arrival. The deposit is NOT applied toward rent; however, it is fully refundable within seven (7) days of departure, provided the provisions listed in damage waiver are met.
