The perfect rental - in-ground pool, large patio, stocked pond with a rowboat (ice skating and sledding in winter), Mohonk views and over 13 acres to explore. There is also a barbecue, two fireplaces (Great Room and master bedroom), central air conditioning, cable and high speed Internet, three TV`s, and a game room with foosball, air hockey, and indoor basketball.
Very large master suite isolated from other two bedrooms and bath and walk-in bathtub. Fourth bedroom currently set up as den with a queen-size sofa bed. Wonderful open floor plan - great for entertaining. Terrific location - just minutes from Stone Ridge town and High Falls shopping, restaurants and historic sites. 1.5 hours from the GWB.
The street i live on falls within the Accord district, however the house is in the Stone Ridge/High Falls area. If you are familiar to this area you know what a beautiful hamlet it is, with luscious vistas, blue stone houses, quiet streets. The area attracts many artists and creative types, with a good contingency of independent actors and industry people in the area.
We have a number of cute restaurants 5 minutes away from the house in High Falls, including the 5 star Canal House. The video store, NYC style gourmet supermarket, drug store, chinese takeout and a great wine store are also 5 min away. 20 min North we have a large shopping mall, 12 movie cineplex, bowling, Sam`s CLub, Walmart,and every other store imaginable.
Apple and pumpkin picking in the fall is always fun and the change of the foliage during the season is spectacular. A number of street fairs in the local towns are frequent with the Ulster County Fair a yearly highlight.
I bought my house because it is the perfect getaway. Trees surround the property so it is nice and quiet, a great contrast to NYC living. Lots of space both inside and outside in the yard. The Great Room is a wonderful place to entertain. The large fireplace fills the room with glow and warmth. The dining room table seats 12 or more so there is room for everyone. I love to sit in the great room and take in the views through the wall of windows that look into the Mohonk mountain range. Breathtaking!!!
I love that I can stay the entire weekend at the house and not feel compelled to leave. Between the pool and BBQ for entertaining, the pond to swim, fish or ice skate in the winter and the yard where we play volleyball, bacci, croquet, there is something for everyone. There are 3 patios. I often take the hammock and lounge on the patio outside the master bedroom.
