This property is truly one-of-a-kind! The Salmon River Reservoir, located in Tug Hill west of the Adirondacks, is "NY State`s Best Kept Secret" -- an 8 mile-long, 1 mile-wide, 50+ ft deep, clear lake with only a handful of properties that can ever be developed. Surrounded by State Parks and Forests, this lake has abundant wildlife and some of the best fishing in the Northeastern US. Our property has its own private 2 acres, plus shares 20+ acres and a 2400+ foot waterfront and picnic area with 12 other lots (only 4 of which have homes on them). From your door it is only about a hundred yards (just over a minute walk) across the road to the beach. Many families with small children will find this slight separation from the water attractive for obvious reasons. "Extremely Private" is no exaggeration: on many weekdays it is rare to see anyone else on this beautiful lake.
The chalet has warm natural woodwork and wide-plank pine floors throughout; open living/dining/kitchen with vaulted ceilings; fully-equipped kitchen; downstairs bathroom with claw-foot tub, shower, and vintage fixtures; upstairs bathroom with shower; laundry room; new comfortable sofas; new top quality mattresses; hypoallergenic pillow and mattress covers; and cotton sheets. Two balconies and a deck make this a quiet haven to enjoy nature and the perfect entertaining space for family and friends.
Swim at the beach, explore miles of shoreline in a canoe, fish for large and small mouth bass, walleye, trout, and pan fish of all kinds. Thousands of acres of State Parks and Forests surround you, with the beautiful Salmon River Falls just a mile away, and of course, the Salmon River with its world-class Salmon fishing, and Lake Ontario. Miles of fantastic X-country skiing and hiking trails await you just down the road. Hike, mountain bike, or ski right from the door, or take one of our canoes and picnic or camp on one of the more than 20 campsites on the lake and its islands.
Enjoy your morning coffee on the balcony accompanied by the sound of nesting loons; roast s`mores at the fire pit; or read, play games and watch TV in the comfortable living room.
This is a wildlife paradise: you`ll regularly see entire families of Foxes, Chipmunks, Deer, Wild Turkey, Osprey, Blue Heron, Bald Eagles, and birds of every kind (for the bird watcher, we have binoculars and Peterson`s Field Guide).
Only 15 miles to Lake Ontario & the historic town of Pulaski; 70 miles to Alexandria Bay; 50 miles to Syracuse; and 50 miles to the great Adirondack Forest Preserve.

RENTAL INCLUDES:
Linens, towels, & beach towels, use of our canoes and other amenities, and cleaning at beginning and end of stay. As a courtesy we also provide our renters with a comprehensive information packet with directions and tips about the property and lake, nearby dining, grocery and other stores, and local attractions.
EXCLUSIONS:
We share our home only with families and others interested in quiet enjoyment of this natural paradise. Therefore, we do not allow: ATVs, snowmobiles, motorized boats of any kind, or parties. Hunting or use of firearms is strictly prohibited. Must be 25 years of age or older to rent. No pets please.
SECURITY DEPOSIT:
A fully-refundable Security Deposit of $400 and signing of our Lease Agreement reserves your rental. Security Deposit is refunded, assuming no loss or damage, within 30 days of end of rental.
