Just a two-hour drive from the Albany, Schenectady, Troy area, we are located on a private road in the Town of Indian Lake in the scenic Adirondack State Park.
Camp Shady is a two-story house on quiet Lake Adirondack, fully furnished with adequate sleeping for 8-10 people. It is fully equipped with all modern conveniences and requires you to bring only your own beach and bath towels. The upper level has 3 bedrooms, 1 full bath, kitchen, dining and living room. The lower level has a 3/4 bath, 1 bedroom, and a playroom with a futon.
Amenities are numerous and include a fully equipped kitchen with refrigerator, gas range with oven, microwave, dishwasher, toaster, coffee pot, cookware, glassware, and dishes. There is a gas grill on the back deck for your outdoor grilling. The dining room will comfortably seat 8-10 people. The living room has a color TV with cable, VCR/DVD player, stereo system and a Ben Franklin stove. Off the living room is a covered porch that overlooks the lake. The washer/dryer are located on the lower level, as are foosball, games and toys. We have a firm "No Smoking" policy. We can discuss pets.
You will have use of a rowboat, canoe and lifejackets. Small children can play on the sandy beach at the water`s edge. Your children can catch small fish right off the dock. Nearby are (2) golf courses, whitewater rafting companies, hiking trails, excellent trout fishing and The Adirondack Museum at Blue Mountain Lake.
You can make easy day trips to Lake George with its shopping outlets and amusement parks, Gore Mountain to ski in winter or ride the gondola in summer, or Lake Placid, home of the 1980 Olympics, and try the bobsled run.
Bring your camera as you might see deer, turkeys, geese & ducks near our camp along with our resident loons on the lake.
In winter, enjoy ice fishing, cross country skiiing and downhill skiing and tubing at nearby Gore Mountain.
