Fully winterized, this comfortable, two-story restored farmhouse includes an updated, spacious country kitchen through whose windows one sees the pond and hillside, a dining room with pine refinished floors and harvest table perfect for entertaining, comfortable living room with its own baby grand piano, renovated bathroom with shower and tub, and laundry room with washer, dryer and utility sink. Adjacent to the kitchen is a sunroom leading to an open deck overlooking the meadows. It`s an ideal place for morning coffee, grilling or watching unforgettable sunsets. During growing season, an organic garden provides visitors with fresh vegetables. A central staircase leads to the second floor where there are three charming, wall-to-wall carpeted bedrooms and a yoga/meditation room. The master bedroom has a double bed, the second room has two twins, and the third has one twin. The yoga room has to ability to sleep two. Bright, comfortable bedrooms with oak shutters, each has ample space and is outfitted with designer linens, quilts and comforters. The house comfortably accommodates five to seven. Around the piano, in the meditation room, on the front porch or back deck, there are special places for guests to relax and enjoy themselves. Whether for family gatherings, vacations or weekend retreats, The Innward Turn Farmstead is the perfect refuge, offering visitors a unique farm experience. Bike down the country road, walk the wooded hillsides, watch deer grazing in the meadows, pick rhubarb for a pie, fly kites in the back meadow, or sleep outside under the stars---the possibilities are endless.

Decorated throughout with original prints, drawings and paintings, the house has a warm and welcoming atmosphere. On sunny days or raining days, it is cheerful and inviting. A large front porch furnished with rocking chairs is a favorite gathering place, ideal for enjoying the morning stillness and country quiet. Overlooking a pond which has been home to generations of wildlife, guests watch blue herons land gracefully, otters skim the surface or Canadian geese paddle through the water. A combination oil/wood furnace provides excellent heat, and there is an interior, well-stocked woodshed for log fires. There are two large barns on the property and a two-car garage.
This country retreat is situated in Pierrepont, New York and conveniently located fifteen minutes from Potsdam and Canton, the St. Lawrence County seat. During spring and summer, a farmers` market takes place there twice weekly. Concerts, lectures and theater performances regularly occur at the five nearby colleges, and nearby there are many good restaurants, excellent tennis courts and three competitive golf courses. It is only an hour and a half drive from the farmstead to Canada`s capital, Ottawa, two hours from Montreal; three from Syracuse or Burlington, and three and a half from Albany. Local airports are in Massena and Ogdensburg.
Higley Flow State Park with its swimming facilities, beachfront, boat ramps and fishing lakes stocked with abundant trout and bass is only ten minutes away. Horseback riding stables also are nearby. Besides swimming and fishing, summer activities include boating, kayaking, canoeing, sailing, water-skiing, mountain hiking and camping. During winter, enjoy tobogganing, sledding, downhill and cross-country skiing, ice skating and snow shoeing.

RENTAL RATES
$1,200 per week or $200 per night, 2 day minimum, $525 per weekend (Friday - Sunday)
A reservation deposit of 50% is required with your reservation, along with signed rental agreement.
Remainder due upon arrival. $50 cleaning fee added to bills.
