This is one of the very special houses of Woodstock. Built in the 1880s, it was the original main farmhouse for the immediate area. It has been restored and updated, but retains its sense of graciousness and charm with original wide-board floors, high ceilings, large windows and lots of light. It is a comfortable, easy house, furnished with a mix of antiques and contemporary furniture. The large country kitchen is a delight to cook in and opens directly to the backyard seating area and BBQ. The house has 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, a Living room/Dining room, family room, and office.
The house sits in the valley on a country road, at the entrance to two rolling, green and tree-dotted acres. The property is bordered by 100 acres behind it, a stream that runs after the rains, and parkland across the street. We are seven minutes from the center of Woodstock Village, arts, theater, and antiquing, and directly across from hiking, biking paths, fishing, and canoeing. There are lakes and swimming holes throughout the area.
