This unique and freshly renovated two room cabin nests high on a hillside overlooking Hinckley lake. The thick forest is home to all sorts of wildlife, the birds are feeding constantly at the feeders and you can expect to be woken by loons calling in summer
The cabin comes equipped with Dolby sound-surround, as well as speakers on the deck. The floors are hand-painted, yet tough enough to withstand normal wear and tear. There is an interesting assortment of books, games and videos for quiet, rainy days. Enjoy it all in front of a crackling fire. Your well-mannered dog is very welcome. This cosy cabin/ week-end package (meal package is optional)has been designed to facilitate a no-hassle escape from a hectic lifestyle. You need only throw a few clothes into an overnight bag and hop in the car, everything else is supplied. If you forget to pack your toothbrush, there will be one here for you.
Rates
From $395/weekend.(4PM Friday - 4PM Sunday)$1050/week A fuel sur-charge of $35/ week-end, $70/ week is now in effect (sorry!) Meal packages start at $159/ per couple per week-end. Winter at the cabin is magical, the same rates apply.
Things to do
Hinckley Lake is just 100 yards down the hill, offering swimming and kayaking, rentals right next door! The Adirondack hiking trails are wonderful, especially in the fall. If you prefer biking, mountain bikes can be provided with the cabin. In winter, access to the cabin gets a bit more interesting as the last 100 feet of road is fairly steep.
The X-country skiing is exceptional. The historic little town of Barneveld is 10 minutes away and here you can rent a DVD,start your day with a workout at a very well-equipped gym, do yoga, or spend an evening with the locals at the "Moore" enjoying a drink and a game of pool. If you happen to be here for Remsen`s `Barnfest`, that has evolved into a very successful and well thought out craft fair. In summer the area abounds with local field days.
