Roam the beautiful wintry woods around the house, curl up with one of our many good books, or listen to one of our vintage collection of LP records and tapes. In town, visit the many antique and gift stores in the area, as well as art galleries and local museums. There are several cafes and good restaurants in Margaretville, and several great ones within 15 minute drive. Bellayre skiing is nearby - the resort features great slopes and free x-country trails. Hunter-Windham skiing is 45 minutes away. In summer, there are secluded lakes on state land to swim in, and tubing on the Esopus river. The area is also known for its great trout fishing. Thousands of acres of State land are nearby to hike on. The legendary town of Woodstock is within an hour`s drive, with many charming and atmospheric tiny towns in between. There are many street festivals and art shows in the summer... A great getaway for a weekend or a few months.
