Originally built in 1887 as a classic Victorian summer retreat for Addison Scott, a wealthy Griffin Corners resident, the "Scott Cottage" began welcoming guests to the countryside around the turn of the century. Situated at the confluence of the Bushkill and Little Red Kill trout streams, the setting has long proved a powerful lure for those seeking to rejuvenate body and soul.

Today, the town of Griffin Corners is known as the Village of Fleischmanns (named in honor of the yeast magnate and town benefactor), and the Scott Cottage (now a Village landmark) has evolved into River Run - elected to the National Trust for Historic Preservation.

This spacious twenty-room Queen Anne mansion features eight distinctive guest accommodations (most with private bath), each named for a storied Catskill river. A private apartment called the "Retro Wing" offers a nostalgic suite decorated with kitsch from the 50`s, 60`s and 70`s and with private baths and kitchen that is ideal for families or longer stays.

The common rooms on the Main Floor are anything but common. Upon entering River Run you will likely find yourself drawn to the warmth of the front-parlor hearth, surrounded by books, games and piano. Step into the oak-floored dining room, bathed in the colors of the inn`s signature stained-glass windows, and enjoy delectable breakfasts and refreshments.

River Run`s outdoor setting beckons you to explore its acre of backyard, which slopes gently to a private streamside picnic area. Or simply relax in an Adirondack chair on the front porch and watch the town go by. A short walk brings you to tennis courts, swimming pool, park, theater, antiques, museum/library, auction and a choice of restaurants. Just minutes away are the magnificent hiking trails of the "forever wild" Catskill Forest Preserve, golf, fishing, horseback riding, antiquing, rail rides, tubing, mountain biking and some of the best skiing in the Northeast at Belleayre and Plattekill. As you can see, this is a destination to enjoy in every season!

Acommodations: Eight guest rooms (4 each have a private bath) plus a two bedroom, two bath apartment suite with full kitchen.

Direction: The most direct route by automobile is the New York State Thruway (I-87 North) to Exit 19 - Kingston, then to 28 West (sign says to "Pine Hill") for approximately 45 minutes (37 miles) to Fleischmanns. To reach the Inn, take the second exit for Fleischmanns off Route 28 (about 1 mile past the first turn off) where you`ll see the West Wind Motel. Turn right onto Depot Street, and then take the next right onto Wagner Avenue. Stay straight on Wagner Avenue, - passing the stately Victorians and the Village Green - to Bridge Street. Turn left on Bridge Street to Main Street. Turn right on Main Street to River Run - we`re two doors down on the right. You may park right in front, or the Village lot is just down Main Street on the right. This is our only off-street parking, which MUST be used during times of snowfall. Please do not park in the driveway.
