Indian Lake is a vacation paradise! Located in the center of Adirondack State Park, Indian Lake is the center of white water rafting in New York State. Here you can experience a guided float trip or do it yourself in canoe or kayak. Just a 15 minute walk from the house is good trout fishing on the Cedar River or any of a variety of hiking trails. The region also boasts good rock for climbing and two golf courses for anyone with the itch to tee off. In the winter, there is ice fishing on your doorstep, cross country skiing at the end of the street and New York's best downhill at nearby Gore Mountain or Whiteface.The authentic log cabin Timberlake is located in the Town of Indian Lake, on the shore of Lake Adirondack, a peaceful mountain lake that is just right for a family holiday. Because of the restrictions on motorboat use (10 horsepower engines max) this lake is the perfect place for quiet contemplation and relaxing moments with friends and family. It sits on about 100 feet of lakefront where the drop is gradual and ideal for swimming. In winter, when the lake is frozen, you can skate or ski right from the house. Although the cabin is set in 2 acres of spruce and birch woods, the village is only a mile away and is an easy walk or drive. Deer are seen with regularity on the lawn and wild Turkey pass by to nibble on the acorns.
Timberlake is fully equipped with all modem conveniences and requires that all you bring is your toothbrush. The main floor has 2 bedrooms (1 queen & 1 twin), 1 full bath, kitchen, dining/living room, den/office and laundry room. There is a loft that is composed of a queen bed, half bath and sitting area with expansive views out to the lake. In the den/office room there is a double futon that can sleep 2 people. Cathedral ceilings in the dining/living area frame the full view windows that face the lake and give direct access to the deck where you can grill your lake trout or just enjoy a summer meal. The living room has a wood stove to keep the chill off those cool nights or create just the right atmosphere. The cabin has an attached two-car garage and laundry room with washer & dryer for your use.
Amenities of the house are numerous: The kitchen is fully equipped with an electric stove, microwave oven, a coffee pot, toaster, pots, pans, glasses and dishes. All linens are supplied but we suggest you bring your own beach towels. There is cable TV, VCR, CD player, radio, fuseball, books, games & puzzles. For outdoor activities there is a canoe with paddles and life jackets, fishing poles, water toys, badmitten, croquet, and a few bicycles. Smoking is not permitted on the property (this policy is firm). We can discuss pets.
Nearby are attractions such as the Adirondack Museum in Blue Mountain Lake, Lake George with outlet shopping and amusement parks and Lake Placid, home to many Olympic hopefuls. Indian Lake is a true community with townspeople that love where they live and actively participate in making it a friendly and welcoming place. There are street fairs, local band concerts and merchants that can offer most anything you could need while on vacation.
Whether you choose to watch from the deck as the sun rises over the lake or drop a fish line as the sun bums off the morning mist, your first morning at Timberlake will immediately make you realize "you're on vacation".
